Montez The Art of Beauty or Secrets of the Womens Toilet with Recommendations for Gentlemen on the Art of Admiration of 1858, which was a bestseller in Russia and Western Europe of the 19th century. The book recommended a personal care complex for preserving beauty and youth, including food restrictions, exercise, cleansing the skin with cool water, which prevented many diseases and supported the beauty of the body. The author analyzes the tips for skin care that prevents the development of wrinkles. It was recommended to use masks, rubbing the skin, which lightened and softened the skin. The masks included various mixtures of plants and products. The book contained recommendations for women to increase or decrease breast, to combat redness of the skin and its wilting, preservation of whiteness of teeth. The author of the book under study - a dancer, actress, writer, was an example of such a healthy lifestyle, caring for her body. She held public lectures, reports, readings on how to be beautiful in Paris, Berlin, London and America. Moreover, in this historical period in society there was a cult of pale, painful women. To achieve this appearance, there were many life-threatening recipes.
