Existing successes and progress in the study of the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, and features of the diagnosis of many diseases in children are quite moderate, which leads to not always a positive attitude, both in patients and doctors. There are many objective and subjective reasons. Among them, the most important are the unexplored characteristics such as pharmacokinetic properties (absorption, adsorption, distribution, biotransformation, excretion, etc.), pharmacodynamics (the mechanism of action of drugs, pharmacological action, etc.), pharmacogenetics (the influence of genetic factors on the effect of drugs) in this age group. When determining the pathogenesis of the disease and its clinical manifestations, anatomical and physiological features are directly taken into account, while the specifics of the action of medicinal forms used in children's practice are often not taken into account. In fact, Pediatrics takes into account mainly the age characteristics of children, although the direction and nature of changing metabolic processes in the body are especially important when prescribing drugs. After all, children's drugs of many pharmacological groups are metabolized slowly. The article deals with issues related to the availability of medicines for children, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the existing drug supply system, the requirements for medicines used in Pediatrics.
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>medicinal products (drugs)</kwd><kwd>medicinal products</kwd><kwd>efficacy and safety</kwd><kwd>medicinal forms</kwd><kwd>pediatrics</kwd><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>newborns</kwd><kwd>clinical studies</kwd><kwd>pharmacokinetics</kwd><kwd>pharmacodynamics</kwd><kwd>metabolism</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>лекарственные средства</kwd><kwd>лекарственные препараты</kwd><kwd>эффективность и безопасность</kwd><kwd>лекарственные формы</kwd><kwd>педиатрия</kwd><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>новорожденные</kwd><kwd>клинические исследования</kwd><kwd>фармакокинетика</kwd><kwd>фармакодинамика</kwd><kwd>метаболизм</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Тельнова Е.А.
