Against the background of a decrease in mortality from diseases of the circulatory system, deaths from cerebrovascular diseases have increased by 11%. The death rate from cerebrovascular diseases among women was 1.5 times higher than among men. During the follow-up period, a 2.5-fold decrease in the death rate from stroke was detected, a more significant decrease was found among women (2.8 times) than among men (2.1 times). The revealed decrease in death rate from a stroke is connected with creation of service of specialized medical aid to patients. An increase in the death rate from cerebrovascular diseases and a decrease in deaths from stroke was due to an increase in the death rate from causes related to cerebral atherosclerosis (from 138.7 per 100,000 to 268.8), which in 97.2% of cases occurs in individuals overworking age.
