Fertility and mortality correlations are discussed with population age composition, education level, income, potential of inpatient and outpatient health care facilities, number of physicians, urbanization, migration attractiveness of territories and criminal activity. Health care system is revealed to be weak in withstanding demographic challenges. Data reliability and comparability, attention to inherent causation of mixed changes are stressed to be indispensable for adequate evaluation of current situation, prospects of its development, distribution and usage of available resources.
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>fertility</kwd><kwd>mortality</kwd><kwd>population composition</kwd><kwd>health care resources</kwd><kwd>regional variation</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>рождаемость</kwd><kwd>смертность</kwd><kwd>состав населения</kwd><kwd>ресурсы здравоохранения</kwd><kwd>региональное варьирование</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Баранов И.Н.
