The negative impact of this infection on the mortality rates of the population in all age groups and from all causes has been established. The increase in mortality from individual causes in the post-pandemic period was determined.&lt;br /&gt;In total, 438594 COVID-19 cases were officially registered in the Rostov region during the entire observation period. At the same time, not a single case was registered in 2019, 51651 cases (11.8%) were registered in 2020, 142276 cases (32.4%) in 2021, 244667 cases (55.8%) in 2022. The greatest negative impact of COVID-19 on overall mortality rates was noted in 2021 (17.9%), including this year the largest number of people died from COVID-19 infection itself (14068 people). Despite a significant increase in COVID-19 cases in 2022 (244667 people), the overall mortality rate for most causes, including from the infection itself, decreased, due to the mutation of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant virus into the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with a lighter course diseases and minimal complications.&lt;br /&gt;During the study period, the negative impact of COVID-19 was noted both on the total population and on the overall mortality rate of the population of the Rostov region, in particular, a decrease in the population of 1.2% and an increase in the total mortality rate by 12.8%.&lt;br /&gt;The current situation in the post-pandemic period requires medical institutions to organize the rehabilitation of persons who have undergone COVID-19 and to ensure the completeness of coverage of the specified contingent with dispensary supervision.&lt;/p&gt;</abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>total mortality</kwd><kwd>cause of mortality</kwd><kwd>pandemic</kwd><kwd>COVID-19</kwd><kwd>mortality rate</kwd><kwd>post-pandemic period</kwd><kwd>population</kwd><kwd>age group</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>общая смертность</kwd><kwd>причина смертности</kwd><kwd>пандемия</kwd><kwd>COVID-19</kwd><kwd>коэффициент смертности</kwd><kwd>постпандемийный период</kwd><kwd>население</kwd><kwd>возрастная группа</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Narbut V.V.
