For the first time he described the Level disease (Kashin-Beks disease) and indicated measures of its control. His scientific works are devoted to regional pathology, prevention and treatment of helminthic diseases, endemic goitre, as well as to the issues of balneology, public hygiene, folk medicine. He paid much attention to the influence of labour conditions, everyday life of the population, influence of climatic factors on morbidity. N. I.
