Training of sanitary anti-epidemic personnel in the Samara province at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries

Abstract


The article presents the activities of the Samara provincial zemstvo in organizing and preparing sanitation personnel to work in anti-epidemic teams during the cholera epidemic at the end of the 19th — early 20th centuries. The research demonstrates the curriculum of the classes for training sanitarians to work in anti-epidemic teams. The majority of students on the classes were senior students of the Samara provincial zemstvo paramedic school. A significant number of graduates from the courses during cholera epidemics in the region worked as epidemic paramedics.
