Internet survey — a new way to study the tolerability of antidepressants

Abstract

A survey of viewers of the @psyhfarm-tv YouTube channel (108,000 subscribers) revealed that the mechanism of action (serotonin reuptake inhibition, serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibition, receptor antagonism and/or agonism) of 17 antidepressants influences patient assessments of their tolerability. This assessment worsens with the number of neurons (especially histamine and acetylcholine) affected by the antidepressant, as well as the number of mechanisms of action.
