Abstract
The name of doctor of medical sciences, professor Margarita Abesalomovna Tumanyan rightfully belongs to the galaxy of prominent scientists who laid the foundations of radiation microbiology and immunology in the USSR. At the same time, the article is the first attempt to present her scientific biography based on the results of studying archival documents and literary materials. Previously undescribed facts of her creative activity have been established, and their chronological sequence has been compiled. The most complete assessment of her contribution to the development of science and the medical industry in our country is given.
