Abstract
The article presents an analysis reflecting the historical path of formation and development of demographic education. It describes the main historical stages in the promotion of demographic knowledge in modern Russia (including the Soviet Union) related to the origin of the demographic education system and its formation (1940—1960), the blossom or the epoch of bright and fruitful development of the demographic education system (1960—1990) and stagnation of the demographic education system (1990—2021). At the same time today we can talk about a new stage of development — the restoration of demographic education in Russia, which is associated with the formation of a modern model of training in demography, based on the adoption of major documents at the national level: professional standard «Demographer» (approved by the Russian Ministry of Labor in 2022); qualifications «Specialist in Demography» (demographer), «Analyst in Demography» (approved by the National Agency for Qualifications Development in 2022); educational module program
