MEDICAL AND SOCIAL ASPECTS OF REHABILITATION OF CHILDREN
Abstract
Medical and social aspects of children rehabilitation attract attention of public leaders as well as health care community. Rehabilitation programs are an effective method of children health management. Rehabilitation institutions network is necessary for implementation of rehabilitation process in childhood at various levels. The existing system is not sufficient to ensure appropriate specialized care aimed at disability prevention and adequate child development. This is reflected in an increasing number of children with persistent health disorders, lack of interface between rehabilitation agencies, ambiguity of approaches to inter-agency rehabilitation programs for various categories of children; there is no scientific justification for a system of rehabilitation activities. It is required to improve health promotion system by implementation of new preventive approaches laid down in medical rehabilitation, to develop a territorial model of rehabilitation, which would provide comprehensive, complex and successive rehabilitation activities for children with various health status, social adaptation and socialization. Successful implementation of this model will contribute to development of medical rehabilitation national system, that is one of the most important conditions for overcoming the current critical situation in health care and social sphere.
